IAN MOSS IN AFRICA - OPTIONAL ACTIVITY BOOKING FORM

CAPE POINT TOUR IS PAID LOCALLY IN SOUTH AFRICAN RAND CASH, ELEPHANT CAFE IS PREPAID BY CREDIT CARD, ALL OTHER OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES IN VICTORIA FALLS ARE PAID ON OUR LAST DAY IN VICTORIA FALLS WITH CASH OR CREDIT CARD

The spectacular helicopter flight over the Victoria Falls is known as the ‘Flight of Angels’. David Livingstone famously wrote on seeing the Victoria Falls for the first time in 1855 that “Scenes so lovely must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight”. Little did he know that 150 years later he could have exactly that opportunity. The best way to appreciate the true splendour of the Victoria Falls is to view them from the air. Our helicopters have specially designed ‘bubble shaped’ windows perfect for panoramic viewing and great photographic opportunities from all seats. Due to the close proximity of Maramba Aerodrome to the Zambezi River, the helicopters are over the spectacular scenery of the Zambezi River within 30 seconds after take-off.
MORNING GAME CRUISE Experience the stunning wildlife & rich Chobe waterfront on a 3 hour Chobe River cruise. Take to the waters of the Chobe River . Chobe National Park is well-known for its large herds of elephant that frequent the Chobe River on a daily basis. In the dry season an estimate of up to 85,000 elephants can be dispersed within the Chobe National Park, where the majority of them can be found along the river. Apart from the herds of elephants, Chobe also has lots more to offer. The Park has lion, leopard, buffalo and a whole host of antelope like sable, puku, kudu, eland, roan and many others which you can get to see. The river is filled with big pods of hippos and some of the biggest crocodiles in Africa. The chance of seeing wildlife on the islands and riverbanks is very high as is the likelihood of seeing large numbers of bird species, crocodiles and other wildlife. Elephant, buffalo, giraffe and hippo are common sightings with sable, leopard and numerous antelope also being regulars on guests check lists. AFTERNOON GAME DRIVE Chobe game drives are the number one activity to experience while visiting Kasane and the Chobe National Park. Chobe Game Drives are offered in custom built 4×4 safari vehicles. These vehicles have open sides which offers exceptional views for the guests. All game drives are conducted by qualified guides all registered with the Botswana guiding council. The local experience and knowledge offer a great insight to animals and their behaviour. It is one of the greatest game reserves in southern Africa and famous for the number of elephant that live there. The Chobe River flows lazily through the Caprivi flood plains and provides a haven for huge herds of buffalo and elephant, zebra, wildebeest and impala which are followed closely by predators including lion, hyena, the elusive leopard and the odd pack of the now rare wild dog. The bird life in particular is exceptional.
Two magical experiences in one. You transfer across the border into Livingstone, Zambia and on to the Elephant Cafe (approx.40 mins) to our exclusive tented restaurant built on a wooden deck, upstream from Victoria Falls – the centrepoint of a riverside location that has been home to a herd of hand-reared elephants for many years. This is a Livingstone restaurant like no other. You will have the opportunity to meet the herd, learn their stories and enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime close encounter with these gentle giants before you are welcomed into The Elephant Café for a unique dining experience with Chef de Cuisine Annabel Hughes and her team who specialise in creating a foodie’s delight of fresh locally-sourced food and wild edibles. Return cross border transfers, elephant interaction, high tea, alcoholoc / non-alcohlic drinks are included in the package.
Departing at 8am, embark on an awe-inspiring tour to the towering headland known as Cape Point. Jutting out into the ocean, this rugged and rocky peninsula has become synonymous with the Cape of Storms since the explorer, Barolotmeu Dias, first set his sights on it in 1488. In those days, sailors saw Cape Point as both a useful landmark and a terrifying hazard depending on the time of day and the weather. No longer feared, Cape Point has become a popular attraction. Home to sweeping vistas, spectacular landscapes, and rich fauna and flora, there's no denying the beauty of this historic land formation. Looking east, travelers can marvel at False Bay and the long, swooping curve that it forms on the southern Cape coastline which is dotted with crags and cliffs, sandy beaches, and turquoise waters. At certain times of the year, the icy Atlantic Ocean, carrying the Benguela current, collides with the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. Magnificent beaches, breathtaking views, fynbos-littered hiking trails, and a collection of historic and picturesque coastal villages visited en-route are all part of our Cape Point Tour package - Duration:9 hours
